Natural Selection was started in 2000 in the kitchen of company founder Jean Vavra with the notion of creating a line of hand-made soaps that luxuriate one's skin. Each bar of soap is hand-stirred in small batches, poured into hand-made molds and cut and cured for a month before it's sold to the public. This process preserves the natural glycerin of the saponification (soap production) process, the main ingredient of keeping your skin soft and supple.

Vavra has turned this dedication to infants with the Buddha Baby Collection. Made of shea butter, jojoba, sweet almond, palm kernel, castor and coconut oils and originally formulated for her own son (the original Buddha baby), the Buddha Baby Collection helps fight eczema and preserve the health of a baby's sensitive skin.
